The call of the lagoon… and the fish
From the very first days on the island, it was impossible to resist the call of the Rodrigues lagoon. Its turquoise waters stretch as far as the eye can see, framed by a vibrant reef—a true paradise. Thanks to my packraft, I was able to explore these salty expanses in complete freedom: alone, with my children, or accompanied by my trusty fishing rods. It was during one of these suspended moments, as I cast my line from my boat buffeted by the swell and waves crashing against the reef, that I was seized by a brief panic: what if I hooked a nice fish? In such a shifting and unpredictable environment, the question took on its full meaning.
